Legendary playback singer S. Janaki, 88, was cremated with state honors in Karnataka on Sunday. Her granddaughter performed the last rites following Andhra Brahmin traditions. The singer, who recorded over 48,000 songs in 20 languages, died of a heart attack in Mysuru.
